INCLUSION AND DIVERSITY IN HOSPITALITY: ISSUES IMPACTING LGBT+ EMPLOYEES, CUSTOMERS AND GUESTS

12 March 2020
Hilton London Waldorf, Aldwych, London WC2B 4DD

The Institute of Hospitality was delighted to partner with Checking-IN to host a roundtable discussion on inclusion and diversity with a focus on issues impacting LGBT+ employees, customers and guests.

Reports have shown that not only do LGBT+ staff hide that they are LGBT+ at work for fear of discrimination but also that concealing sexual orientation at work significantly reduces productivity. Additionally, companies that are LGBT+ inclusive foster greater loyalty with customers and guests. We believe that creating an industry that accepts people for who they are is not just morally right; it is critical for business success.

We hosted this discussion to deepen our understanding of key issues and considerations facing the LGBT+ community and enable the sharing of ideas and best practices within the hospitality industry.

  • Non-Discrimination, Anti-Harassment & LGBT+ Inclusive HR Policies

  • Building & Supporting Employee Resource Groups / Networks

  • Authentic LGBT+ Inclusive Advertising & Marketing in Hospitality

  • Guest & Customer Experience

  • Inclusion & Diversity Training

ABOUT THE EVENT
